Nova Scotia MS Patient Welcomes Medical Marijuana Ruling

A multiple schlerosis patient in Nova Scotia is praising a federal court judge for striking down the ban on medical marijuana grown by patients.

Debbie Stultz-Giffin was diagnosed with MS in 1999 and says pharmaceuticals became a toxin in her system.

Medical marijuana proved to be the better option.

“Cannabis became a very, very effective medicine to treat all of the symptoms and to slow the progression of my disease,” said Stultz-Giffin.

Regulations restricting the rights of medical marijuana patients to grow their own cannabis was recently struck down by Judge Michael Phelan.

The Liberal government has six months to come up with new rules.
