Municipality of Shelburne’s CAO Calls It Quits

Kirk Cox has been on the job for 8 years and says that’s long enough.

He says there have been many challenges along the way, particularly in the last few years.

“It’s just the general tone of municipal politics. It’s certainly not a positive and constructive as it was a few years ago. I think that’s unfortunate,” said Cox.

Cox plans to take some much-needed time off over the summer and continue in his role as executive director of Nova Scotia’s Craft Brewers Association as well as do some consulting in economic development and government relations.

Cox says 8 years is a long tenure for a CAO in Nova Scotia.

He says it could take a few months before the transition is complete and a new CAO has been found and in place.
