Engaged citizens from across the province are being recognized for helping to promote the democratic process.
Springtide Collective has released the finalists for Advocate of the Year.
Lunenburg’s Anna Shoub made it into the top three is thrilled about the nomination.
“When it came it was wonderful and then to actually be chosen as one of the three finalists, I’m kind of blown away,” said Shoub.
The hat making, home-based business owner has devoted the better part of a year providing clarity on the land-use by-laws in the town.
“What I’ve seen is a lot of voiceless people who either couldn’t bring this kind of turmoil into their lives or are enconomically on the fringe,” said Shoub.
She says standing up for those silenced by circumstances continues to be her motivation to keep fighting.
