Park View Tops Par en Bas To Win Valley High School Boys Hockey League Title

The Park View Panthers boys hockey team are this year’s Valley High School League champions.

Nolan O’Brien scored twice and added and assist to pace the Panthers to a 4-1 victory over the Par en Bas Sharks Tuesday in Bridgewater.

Connor Goodick added a goal and two assists. Ben Chisholm scored the other goal for the Panthers who finished league play with an impressive record of 18 wins and one shootout loss.

Head Coach Grant Johnston says players have confidence in each other.

“We’ve been in a situation where we have been winning a lot. We went on a 29-game winning streak at one point this season then went to Fredericton and were brought back a couple pegs which is really what we needed; we needed to learn how to lose and we lost in a shootout to NKEC as well. It’s been a special group of kids all year.”

Zach D’Arcy scored the lone goal for Par en Bas.

The Panthers will try and clinch a spot in provincials Friday when they host Avon View in the regional final at the LCLC at 3 p.m.
