GoFundMe Page Created To Help Lady Panthers Play in Provincials

History was made over the weekend as the Park View Education Centre Lady Panthers earned their first ever regional hockey championship.

Now, they need some help to get to provincials.

A GoFundMe page has been setup to raise $1,500 to cover costs for the team to travel and stay in New Glasgow.

Head Coach Ken Foote says they’re victims of their own success.

“We budgeted for the year and regionals came in a little more expensive than we thought,” said Foote.

“Going into provincials, the advantage of a small team is that it’s easier to travel but on the other hand, there’s less bodies to do fundraising.”

Foote says home games outside Bridgewater as well as travel fees for officials meant extra costs they weren’t anticipating.

He says they have a small team and try to keep fees as low as possible.

He’s hoping enough money can be raised to get the team to New Glasgow Thursday night ahead of their first game Friday morning.
