The season is over for the UPS Store South Shore Mustangs.
The Halifax McDonalds swept the Mustangs three games to none in their best-of-five series after a 7-0 win Tuesday night in Bridgewater.
The McDonalds outshot the Mustangs 53-12 in the one-sided affair.
Head Coach Brogan Bailey says his team didn’t show up to play.
“I think we came in tonight hoping that we were going to win,” said Bailey.
“We didn’t come in thinking that we were going to steal one from them, we were kind of hoping that they might not bring their ‘A’ game and we can squeak one out. I don’t think the effort was quite where we needed it to be tonight.”
Bailey says it’s a disappointing finish but feels his players learned a lot this season.
All but two players are eligible to return next year and Bailey is confident he’ll be back for a second season as head coach.
