NS Power Ready For Second Straight Weekend Storm

Nova Scotia Power has over 500 workers ready to go for tonight’s storm.

They’ve activated their Emergency Operations Centre, to centralize restoration efforts for expected power outages.

With high winds in the forecast combined with snow and freezing rain, NS Power storm lead Sean Borden says it will be slightly different than last weekend’s storm.

“This weather system will likely impact the entire province. What we’ve done differently from last week is we’ve brought additional crews, an additional 100 people on the ground to make sure we’re ready to respond,” says Borden.

He says crews will respond as safely and quickly as possible.

He encourages Nova Scotians to follow the NS Power online outage map for restoration information, which is frequently updated.
