A forest fire in Queens County has been contained.
Department of Natural Resources staff spent most of Monday getting the blaze in Milton under control.
Spokesperson Bruce Nunn says Sunday’s rain was a huge help in their efforts.
He says there are still deep burning hot spots near the head of the fire.
The fire – which started Saturday evening in a remote area – has burned 12.6 hectares of forest.
Crews are expected back on scene today.
