Bridgewater is holding the line on residential and commerical tax rates.
The town agreed to keep the residential at $1.65 and commercial at $3.99 per 100 of assessment for the fourth straight year.
However, sewer rates will climb by 15 per cent.
Mayor David Walker says it’s a cost recovery initiative.
“The cost to provide the service, we’re recouping it in the charge. We’re not there yet, we’re still subsidizing it a bit but we’re moving in a direction each year until we get to full cost recovery.”
The rate hike will mean an increase of roughly $26 for homeowners in Bridgewater.
The capital budget is almost $2.9-million while their operating budget is over $19.1-million.
