There are some provinces getting serious about abolishing the time change.
Last week an MLA in PEI raised the issue, listing why the dark evenings are bad for us and all the statistics about heart attacks and traffic accidents in the spring from the “Spring Ahead” time change. The premier there has said he would raise it at the next Atlantic provinces meeting. New Brunswick seems to be on board with the idea too.
Ontario would like to get rid of the time change as well, but wants Quebec and New York state to hop on board with the idea if they are going to do it.
Personally I would love to see the time changes end. It seriously affects me in the spring and fall because of my 3am wake up time.
I think all it would take to get the ball rolling is for one province to do away with the time change and stay on daylight saving time and all the others would fall in line.
