It’s a bit strange. There are heat warnings popping up at the same time as the Stanley Cup finals get underway.
Hockey and heat waves are not things that naturally go together. But at least this year there is a Canadian team in the finals.
That hasn’t happened in a decade, so it’s nice to see. And it could be nice to watch. Sitting back, watching people skate around on a giant ice cube while we try to stay cool.
While it really would be nice to have all that ice in an endless supply of cold drinks, but I guess we can spare a bit for hockey. And hopefully just watching hockey will help make us think cool.
While it might be nice to have a different time from Canada in the finals, like maybe the Leafs, who seem to want to take their time before returning to the final. Or Winnipeg, who have never been there, but Montreal has put together a pretty good run this year. Maybe it’s not exactly what people were expecting, but it’s nice to see.
So that’s the plan. Think cool and watch the game.
