The emergency department at Queens General Hospital will be closed temporarily.

The department will be closed starting at 6 p.m. today, Thursday, July 15, and will re-open at 8a.m. tomorrow, Friday, July 16.

Nova Scotia Health said the closure is due to the unavailability of a physician.

Anyone requiring emergency medical care should call 911, or for general health advice call 811 to speak with a registered nurse.

The Mental Health Crisis Line can also be reached 24 hours a day by calling 1-888-429-8167.
