It will be an emotional night for people in Bridgewater.
This is the 13th year for Relay for Life with proceeds going towards the Canadian Cancer Society.
Twenty teams are signed up for the six-hour event.
Leadership Chair Sarah Wentzell says survivor participation is key.
“That’s the whole reason why we do this event is to see those beautiful people in their yellow shirts walking around, so proud, knowing they fought their fight and they are here to help us continue to fundraise money for this.”
More than 120 cancer survivors are expected to participate this evening.
The survivor reception will be held at 5 p.m. at Holy Trinity Anglican Church followed by opening ceremonies at 7p.m. at the South Shore Exhibition grounds.
Wentzell is hopeful they will reach their six-figure fundraising goal.
