Liverpool: Parts of Cobb Park Closed to Public

Sections of a small community park in Liverpool are off limits to the public.

The Region of Queens Municipality has shut down the play structure, slides and teeter totters at Cobb Park for maintenance.

Mayor David Dagley says the work needs to be done.

“There has been some cracks and some other stability issues noticed in the playground equipment,” says Dagley.

“We certainly don’t want any of the children to tear their clothes and we want everything to be safe. We’re looking at refurbishing them.”

The park itself remains open along with the swings and spring mounted animal equipment.

Dagley estimates the cost to fix equipment is roughly $3,000.

Work was expected to begin today and complete by April 19 but could be delayed due to the impending snowfall.
