A Park View High School student has served and volleyed her way to St. Thomas University.
Bridgewater’s Rebecca Pippy has received a scholarship to play women’s volleyball for the Tommies, beginning in the 2019-20 season.
The 18 year-old was a member of Park View’s Division-1 volleyball team that won the NSSAF Western Region Championships this year.
She says she’s excited and up for the challenge.
“This means a lot to me,” says Pippy.
“This is everything I’ve worked towards for the last six years and having the opportunity to further my education at a school as great as St. Thomas while getting to play volleyball is amazing.”
Pippy plans on studying science and technology while playing volleyball at St. Thomas.
She had an opportunity recently to tour the campus and see this year’s team.
“I actually got the opportunity to practice with the team. I met all the players and coaches and everyone was really great. They were all welcoming and kind.”
Head Coach Don McKay says Pippy is a hard worker, fast learner, and looks forward to working with her in the fall.
