The filming of the movie “The Lighthouse” is set to wrap up this coming Saturday, and with it comes the disassembly of the lighthouse and lighthouse keepers house .
The Municipality of Yarmouth had inquired about keeping the set as a tourist attraction, but after discussions with developers of the set, the structures will not be stable enough to be a permanent feature.
” They’re designed for imagery purposes, and one good nor’easter and they’re going to come down,” said developer Michael Tavares.
The movie set has been visited by many counselors including the warden. Although the structures will not remain, counselor Patti Durkee says that they have asked to keep some of the movie props for display proposes.
“We do know that we will be getting some pictures, we’d like to do some display boards where the other ones are out on the Leif Erikson Trail.”
The movie is expected to come out sometime in 2019, and stars Robert Pattinson and Willam Defoe.
