16th Annual Relay For Life Bridgewater Friday

This Friday, June 1st, the community will come together to remember those who have endured, fought, beaten and lost their battles with cancer.

It’s the 16th Annual ‘Relay For Life’ in Bridgewater, a night to pay tribute to all of those people affected by cancer and hopefully walk towards a cure one day.

It’s a time to celebrate, a time to fight back, and a time to remember.

“We honour everybody that is fighting, have unfortunately lost the fight; caregivers, friends, family, so it;s very much a community event,” says Jo-Ann Mead, South Shore Spokesperson for the Canadian Cancer Society of Nova Scotia.

The 2018 Relay For Life will start of with the Survivor Dinner and Reception at 7pm followed by the opening of the event with survivors doing the first lap not to mention some fun and games in between.

At dusk, emotions tend to run high during the very powerful and impactful luminary event.

“That’s when we light all the luminaries around the track and we remember and honour all of those who have fought and lost the battle with cancer,” adds Mead.

The 16th Annual ‘Relay for Life’ Bridgewater takes place:

South Shore Exhibition Grounds
50 Exhibition Drive
Bridgewater, NS

Start Time: 7:00pm
End Time: 1:00am
