Wileville’s Stockman Wins Silver at Special Olympics World Games

A Special Olympian from Lunenburg County is bringing home a silver medal from the World Games in Abu Dhabi.

Thirty-one year-old golfer Krista Stockman of Wileville finished in second place in her division and fourth overall in the world.

It’s an incredible finish for Stockman, who has only been golfing for two years.

Meanwhile, Liverpool’s Ben Theriau followed up his fifth place finish in the men’s 200 metre run with a 7th place finish in the 100 metre event.

The 19 year-old also helped Canada finish fifth in the 4 x 400 metre run.

The closing ceremony for the Special Olympics World Games is scheduled for Thursday.
