Ramblers Square Series With Lumberjacks; Mariners Sweep Truro

The Amherst Ramblers have tied their series with the South Shore Lumberjacks.

The Ramblers scored a go-ahead goal late in the second period and hung on for a 4-3 victory last night at the Lunenburg County Lifestyle Centre.

Bair Gendunov led the ‘Jacks with a goal and an assist. Nick Ormon and Nicolas Tardif provided the other goals and goaltender Ty Grant stopped 27 shots.

Head Coach and General Manager, Kyle McAllister, says it’s not the situation they were hoping for after winning the first two games of the series.

“We have to get back to that desperate mentality where we are doing those little things right and playing our game and making a few self sacrifices for the greater good of the team,” says McAllister.

“If we get back to that it’s a tough rink to go win in, in Amherst, but we’ve already shown that we can do that in game one and there is no reason why we can’t go do it in game five.”

The series is tied at two. Game five is scheduled for Saturday night in Amherst.

In other MHL playoff action, the Yarmouth Mariners completed their four game sweep of the Truro Bearcats with a 7-1 win last night. They await the winner of the Lumberjacks and Ramblers series.
