Charm Diamond Womens Giving Circle to give $10,000 to Health Project

The South Shore Regional and Fisherman’s Memorial Hospital will be seeing some new equipment.

They just don’t know what it is yet.

The fourth annual Charm Diamond Womens Giving Circle is Nov. 1st.

Development Officer with Health Services Foundation of South Shore Alison Clements says money raised tonight will be donated to one of four proposals.

“It’s based off the idea of 100 Women Who Care, or 100 People Who Care,” she said.

“A hundred women are coming together and we’re raising $10,000 in one night.”

The proposals include a handheld ultrasound, new models for nurses to train on, improving waiting rooms at South Shore Regional and Fisherman’s Memorial Hospital, and heart minitors and v-scans for cardiac rehab.

Clements said the provincial government only has so much money alotted for all hospitals in Nova Scotia and events like this support local health care looking for smaller pieces of equipment.
