Nova Scotia Lung Association Offering 500 Free Radon Detectors

It’s invisible, odourless and tasteless.

Radon is the second-leading cause of lung cancer in Nova Scotia.

Across the province it’s Radon Awareness Month and the Lung Association is doing their part to help.

Michelle Donaldson with the association, says they’re giving away 500 detector kits to 10 communities.

“If you have concerns about your family and want to make sure you home is safe, as most of us do, then you should get a Radon Kit.”

Kits are available as of 9 a.m., Nov. 22.

The detectors are free and are first-come, first-served.

To see if a kit is available in your community, go to the Lung Association of Nova Scotia.
