Now Lunenburg County is using a cross-country tour to ‘toot their own horn’ and hopefully attract people back to the area.
Tina Hennigar will be traveling with a camper to visit small and large communities.
Her mission is to promote Lunenburg County as a place to live, work and raise a family.
She says the county is a hidden gem with people that have a strong sense of community.
“People hear about Halifax but they don’t know what’s available here in Lunenburg County. Once they do know then people when they come here, they absolutely love it.”
Hennigar says it’s better to hit the road and meet people than sit in an office and hope people come to her.
The tour will stop in rural and urban communities and is in conjunction with Canada’s 150th anniversary.
She’s hoping to attract 150 families back to Lunenburg County.
A community engagement session will be held Tuesday February 21 at 1 p.m at the Bridgewater Mall.
It was originally scheduled for February 14 but it was postponed due to weather.
