Hard To Believe 10 Years Has Passed Since 100.7 Went Live

One decade, 10 whole years… It was ten years ago today (July 22, 2010) that Nick Yorston and I started the first official broadcast day for 100.7 CJHK-FM in Bridgewater. I will never forget it either. A lot of uncertainty and guessing and a tonne of fun. So here we are a decade later and each day is still different. Driven by the calls and input from all of you, as we get to offer entertainment along with the necessary information to help each day run smoothly for everyone.

So in the past 3,650 days, what has happened? I am sure the past 4 months have caused you to forget most of your knowledge of history, so here is the pre-CoVid history. Some of the biggest things that happened over the past decade.

The staff has changed a lot at CJHK, but there are still two of the original on-air staff here. Alicia Hunter and myself were here in the beginning and I think I can speak for both of us when I say it is a pleasure to be welcomed into your homes each day on 100.7 FM.

Thankfully one of out dedicated listeners captured our first morning and sent it to us. Here are the first few breaks from that fateful day, back when we were known as a different name:

  1. Very first break
  2. Second after news

There was also the event that a lot of people forget happened. When CJHK changed it’s name to Country 100.7.

  1. HANK farewell
