Which Ox Is Bright, AND The Nova Scotia Scavenger Hunt You Need To Try.

2020 has been weird for everyone, that goes without saying. This week has been extremely odd for many. Personally it is the first year since I can remember summer activities that I am not at the South Shore Exhibition, and I know I am not the only one. The weather certainly didn’t get the memo that the Big Ex is cancelled with these humid conditions.

There have been videos posted to the South Shore Exhibition Facebook page from past events during the week, great memories.

I have also been getting calls with questions about things that are normally seen in the centre of town this week, like oxen. We used to get a lot of questions while broadcasting from the Big Ex each year and we have had a few asked this year as well, even though we are not sweating in a baby barn. Ervin asked this question the other day, “Just wondering if Lion & Bright are looked at by there teamster in front of them or on the wagon? Could not decide if it was like an automobile or not.” I checked with a good friend that has teamed oxen longer than I have been alive and he tells me that if you are looking at the oxen head on (nose to nose), Bright is on the right and Lion on the left. Here are more details about oxen:

Now we don’t want this warm weather and a beautiful province to go to waste. So since most of us are unable to do what we normally would during the summer months this year, here is your excuse for touring around Nova Scotia. It’s your chance to see 20 different landmarks all over this great province, support a good cause and maybe win a prize as you do.
