This was a perfect weekend for getting outside to enjoy the great outdoors. The snow on the trees looked just like a Halmark movie. I was chatting with a good friend from the Annapolis Valley, he decided to tour our area over the weekend. He was telling me that he heard Valley residents calling the local radio station, talking about where they want to travel to. One caller said she wanted to go to the South Shore, when it is safe to do so. Kind of funny to hear as we seem to be one of the safest spots in the world.
Looks like it is shaping up to be another summer of exploring our own backyard. We are very lucky to be in Nova Scotia with many beaches to explore along with heritage sites and wilderness parks like Keji.
Of course we also only have a short drive to the very iconic lighthouse at Peggy’s Cove. If you have never been there, you should go but stay off the black rocks! If you have visited, there are some major changes proposed that will greatly alter the raw natural beauty in the name of safety and accessibility.
The proposed ‘improvements’ will also cost over 3 million dollars.

The planned infrastructure is being met with opposition from those that want the site to remain unchanged.
