Long, Short, Or Laughable… Today We Celebrate Middle Names

IT’s FRIDAY and good news with additional CoVid restrictions lifting this morning making a trip to Halifax an option for this weekend.
Today also happens to be “Middle Name Pride Day“, a good excuse to explore a lighter topic this morning. Where did your middle name come from? Does it have meaning, or was it just something your parents felt sounded good with your name? I was given my Dad’s name as a middle name, while my sister got hers because Mom felt it sounded good with her name, or so I am told.

So what are the most common middle names? I remember in school it seemed all the girls had “Dawn” for a middle name, but that didn’t even make the list:

Then we have the multiple middle names. This practice is often common for those having fewer children, or trying to connect to both sides of the family. Some do it so the initials can create a fun word… you want to careful with that one. Don’t give Stanley Turner the middle names of Henry Isaac, haha
