Is Burning Best For Green Grass??

Do you use fire to help you with spring preparation for the summer months?
This weekend a lot of things went up in flames. Saturday and Sunday evenings I noticed a number of people burning brush, I was one of them. A fire is an easy way to clean up around your property, but unexpected wind or drier than anticipated conditions can take you by surprise and cause a concerning situation.
Growing up I remember my grandfather used to burn the meadow off, always said that burning the grass was the best way to make it grow. The jury is out on that topic of burning grass and according to the experts, the benefit is not as great as once thought.

So if burning is not needed to get a green lawn, what should you do? Looks like raking is a yes, but surprisingly the classic “weed and feed” is not recommended by the professionals.
