Frightful Food Ideas – Halloween Fun In The Kitchen

As we get closer to Halloween, it seems that this spooky observance has crept into every aspect of life, including the kitchen. Whether you are planning on hosting a weekend gathering or just wanting to scare up something different for supper on Sunday night, there are a number of great ideas to try.
I will start with my favorite, something that has become a bit of a Halloween tradition at our house, Jack-o’-Lantern stuffed peppers. Now I would never pretend to be a good chef, and to be truthful, I just use hamburger helper and extra cheese as stuffing. But they are kind of impressive looking and tasty, and not the most unhealthy thing in the world either.
If you are looking at trying these, here is Trisha Yearwood’s recipe, a bit classier than mine, haha.

Another interesting idea I saw yesterday, simple and also using hamburger are the Jack-o’-Lantern Cheeseburgers. These are beyond simple, but look impressive just the same.

There are so many fun ideas and most of them are quite simple. I think I would be up for the mummy hotdogs, but then there are the finger cookies that Greg Lowe often brings to the station on Halloween. I think those would be a bit too difficult for my skills. There are lots of ideas online, here are just a few more.
