This Map Shows The Spots In N.S. Where Snorkels Will Be Required In The Future

When Hurricane Fiona blew through a few weeks ago, I think it is safe to say that the damage caused surprised a lot of folks.
Now that the power has been restored to the province, I can’t help but think of all the places that were flooded or swept away by the waves in the Atlantic Provinces.
It is a scary thought, but it does seem that ocean levels are on the rise and we are surrounded by a lot of water. This might be a better thing to look at over Halloween, because this does look a bit frightening. Scientists have created an interactive map that allows you to see what is predicted to be underwater in the next 80 years.
This really makes me wonder why people would ever build on a flood plain, but that seems to be more common than ever where I grew up in along the LaHave River.
Take a look at the predictions and then make plans to visit some of the coastal jems predicted to be under water in less than a century.
