I am torn…I’m not sure what to think…
I love the new Disney, “Mulan” live-action remake trailer…but at the same time it’s missing something. I first noticed there is no SINGING. I was patiently waiting for “I’ll make a man out of you” and well…nothing.
I get it, maybe they’ll show some of that later during another trailer… turns out…not the case. Rumor has it, there will only be instrumental music.
And then it hit me….there was no MUSHU. You know Mushu,the little dragon that was voiced by Eddie Murphy, the comedic relief. I guess Mushu is going to be depicted by a Phoenix instead.
I try not to be that person that complains when a remake isn’t exactly like the original, because I get it, you need to change up some things, but I’m not too thrilled about that one.
I looked further into the changes and I respect their reasoning. They say they want the movie to be a more accurate reflection of the historical period and original story. **Sign**, how can you be mad at that?
But with that said, I can’t help but cry a little inside that I won’t be singing along to Reflection. Here’s to hoping maybe there is a bit of singing, at some point…. My fingers remain crossed.
