9 foul’s have been born at the RCMP’s breeding farm and they asked Canadian kids to help name them. The only rule, was their names had to start with the letter “S”.
5,300 entries were received, with 400 of those suggesting names related to the tragedy and shooting victims here in NS.
2 names were chosen:
“Scotia” was one of the winning entries and was summited by Casey from Enfield.
And the second name was “SHeidi” ,’ short for Super Heidi, in honor of Constable Heidi Stevenson. The name was submitted by Jade, from Saint-Joseph-de-Beauce, Quebec.
The other 7 names chosen where: Spring, Sosi, Star, Scout, Steele, Scarlet, and Sarge.
The kids who had their entry chosen for one of the new horses will receive a 2020 Musical Ride horseshoe, a picture of the horse they named, and a signed certificate from the Commissioner of the RCMP.
