At this point I’m sure you’ve heard somewhat of what is going on with Country Superstar, Morgan Wallen.
I for one, was one of his biggest fans and was shocked by the video that surfaced Tuesday night. TMZ broke a story that consisted of videos of Morgan and his friends after a night out. Neighbors filmed them honking horns and overall being rowdy. The hardest part to watch though, was when Morgan Wallen shouted at his friends and used a racial slur. Yes…THAT racial slur.
Morgan did proceed to release an apology to TMZ. It read:
“I’m embarrassed and sorry. I used an unacceptable and inappropriate racial slur that I wish I could take back. There are no excuses to use this type of language, ever. I want to sincerely apologize for using the word. I promise to do better.”
Unlike other apologies though. (There has been quite a few from this guy lately.) His career has suddenly come to halt. I myself, am not surprised by this at all.
So what is the latest when it comes to Morgan…
Many of his Country artist company and friends have spoken out about his actions and how it does not represent Country music.
He has officially been suspended indefinitely by his label, Big Loud Records.

His music has also been taken off huge Platforms. Including iHeartMedia, the largest radio network in the U.S., with 850-plus stations. Cumulus Media — the second-largest radio network, with more than 400 stations. CMT. SiriusXM and Pandora have pulled all Wallen content from their platforms and Spotify and Apple Music have taken his songs off their playlists.)
So to wrap things up, you can add Country 100.7 to that list. We will no longer be playing Morgan Wallen’s music. It’s sad to see someone so talented and someone many admire, to not be the person we thought he was. We celebrate diversity, inclusion and equality here at Country 100.7. We can not support an artist that uses words that hurt others and go against our values. Morgan Wallen clearly needs to educate himself as to why that word is a racial slur. He needs to learn the history behind that word and how it has no place in today’s world and never should have in the first place. Maybe then…he will understand why it has halted his career.
