Looking for something to do during the second week of March? Whether you’re into community connection, spooky storytelling, collectibles, or creative fun for the kids, the South Shore has something lined up for you.


March 11 — Caregiver Support Group (6:30–8:00 PM)

A monthly support circle at Roseway Hospital offering a safe space for caregivers to connect, share, and learn from one another. Registration required.



March 11 — Youth & Family Info Night (7:00–9:00 PM)

Bridgewater Baptist Church hosts speaker Brett Ullman, sharing practical guidance on youth, mental health, and navigating digital media.



March 13 — South Shore Jr. B Lumberjacks at the LCLC (6:00–9:00 PM)

Cheer on the South Shore Jr. B Lumberjacks in a home playoff matchup at theLunenburg County Lifestyle Centre (LCLC).

Doors open: 6:00 PM


March 13 — Ghost Stories at the Sandy Point Lighthouse (7:00–9:00 PM)

Settle in for an evening of eerie local tales at the iconic Sandy Point Lighthouse. Cash bar and snacks available.


March 14 — South Shore Card Show (9:00 AM–2:00 PM)

A free, family‑friendly card and collectibles show at the Days Inn & Conference Centre in Bridgewater. Sports cards, TCG, and more.


March 16–17 — Looking Ahead To March Break Camps

Three major March Break experiences kick off this week:

‘Zine & Comic Creation Camp (March 16–20)
Join Hunter to learn the art of ‘zine and comic creation. All materials included.

Please pack a snack, clothes to spend some break time enjoying the winter weather.

Gary L. Wentzell March Break Hockey Tournament (March 16–22)

Minor hockey teams from across Nova Scotia will descend upon our region for 7 days of fun filled action on the ice surfaces of the LCLC, Lunenburg Arena, and Queens Place Emera Centre.

Creative Kindergarten Camp (March 16–20)

March Break Creative Kindergarten Camp (Ages 4 – 7)

A little paint on your fingers at the end of the day keeps the winter blues away. Your child will have time to create and explore a variety of creative projects throughout the week. If you’d like to send old but inspiring magazines or other creative supplies that your child loves and would like to share with their other camp friends please do and send us a quick email so that we know what to expect.

  • Ben Holmes has lived on the South Shore of Nova Scotia for most of his life and has a deep passion for the culture and community of Nova Scotia and the Maritimes. He believes strongly in the importance of radio and other local media, and the role they play in keeping communities informed, connected, and entertained.
    He is the host of “Breakfast With Ben” on CKBW in Bridgewater. When he is not talking, at least not into a microphone, Ben enjoys spending time outdoors, cycling, watching films, taking road trips, and being around family and friends.
