V. Eileen Eisener

EISENER, Vera “Eileen” (McElmon), 89, passed away peacefully at Dykeland Lodge, Windsor, with her family by her side. 

Eileen was the eldest of the late Robert & Vera (Busch) McElmon. She is survived by her children, Brian (Ann), Windsor, Darlene (Ray) Jollimore, Bedford, Dawn (Walt) Boudreau, Centreville, Barry (Tracy), Lunenburg – Grandchildren – William (Rachel) Eisener, Cory (Jenny) Eisener, Meagan (Arthur) Osipenko, Christa (Keith) Bowes, Christopher (Melissa) Sweet, Jonathan (Simone) Sweet, Sam (Meghan) Eisener, Jillian Eisener and 14 great grandchildren. 

Mom was a wonderful mother and grandmother and loved her family. 

 She especially loved being a grandmother and would always have time for her grandchildren. Whether it would be babysitting, having them for sailing at their Princes Inlet summer home and teaching crafts, baking and providing sewing lessons. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Eileen enjoyed being a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for more than 60 years. Spending many of these years on City council. She was also a beautiful seamstress, making most of her children’s clothing when younger, wedding dresses, etc. She will also be remembered as an excellent cook and baker. Her delicious sweets and her beautiful pies are truly missed.

 She was predeceased by her husband of 66 years Harley, daughter Debbie (Bob) Harris, brother Robert McElmon. 

A celebration of life will be held at Woodlawn United Church on Sunday, March 29th at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Kevin Little officiating. Family interment will take place at Second Peninsula Cemetery, Lunenburg County at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Personal Care Cremations & Memorial Services.

 In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Woodlawn United Church or charity of choice. 

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all the staff at Parkland at the Lakes, 4 West at Dartmouth General Hospital and Dykeland Lodge in Windsor as well as the community care teams for the compassionate care and kindness they showed to mom.
