Lumberjacks Drop Season Finale In Shootout To Yarmouth

The Yarmouth Jr. A Mariners eeked out a 4-3 shootout win over the South Shore Lumberjacks in the final Maritime Hockey League regular season game for both teams.

Ryan O’Toole scored twice for the Lumberjacks while Tristan d’Entremont added the other.

Affilliate player Vincent Rioux helped out with two assists.

Goaltender Derek Goguen stopped 32 shots in the loss.

South Shore is now done for the year.

Yarmouth will begin their Best-of-7 playoff series on Thursday in Truro before the teams return to Yarmouth on Saturday.

Elsewhere, Amherst beat Valley 7-2, St. Stephen edged Dieppe 3-2 in overtime, and Miramichi beat Campbellton 3-1.

The MHL regular season comes to an end today with two games as Amherst travels to Berwick to face Valley and Woodstock entertains Summerside.
