Mahone Bay asking public to help name new waterfront trail

The Town of Mahone Bay is asking for help naming a new waterfront trail that is nearing completion.

The accessible trail, located along Edgewater Street, stretches close to a kilometre and will connect Kedy’s Landing to Edgewater and Main Street.

The town says the trail is designed for walking, biking and other forms of mobility, offering views of the harbour and surrounding coastline.

It also includes elements of a Living Shoreline project, aimed at combining environmental protection with public access to the waterfront.

Residents and visitors are being invited to submit name ideas through the town’s “Get On Board Mahone Bay” engagement platform. People can also vote on suggested names.

Submissions are open until May 11.

The trail is expected to open in June, with a grand opening planned once a final date is confirmed.
