South Shore Public Libraries is dipping their toe in the movie streaming business.
People can now get access to a service called Kanopy which, similar to Netflix, will allow you to stream from a list of over 30,000 movies.
Deputy Chief Librarian Jeff Mercer says you probably won’t find the latest blockbuster.
But, he says it’s full of titles that are harder to get your hands on.
“It’s a lot of documentaries, and art films, and independent films, and foreign films, so it’s quiet the mix.”
Mercer says people need to contact the library to get their free access.
He says a trial for the service will run until the end of the month then the administration will decide if it’s worth it to commit long-term.
