Three youths have been arrested following an investigation into a fire that destroyed a floating dock and caused damage around Bridgewater last summer.
Bridgewater Police Service says the arrests are tied to incidents that took place in the early morning hours of June 15, 2025.
Police and the Bridgewater Fire Department were called to Shipyards Landing on King Street around 3:30 a.m., where the southernmost section of a floating dock in the LaHave River was found on fire.
The dock was destroyed, and investigators later determined the fire had been intentionally set.
It has since been replaced.
Police say additional damage was reported at the scene, including property belonging to the Shipyard Shindig Music and Arts Festival or its contractors. Other acts of property damage were also reported in different parts of town that same morning.
Two of the youths have been released from custody and are expected to face charges of arson and mischief at a later date.
A third youth has been referred to a restorative justice program.
The fire prompted a replacement of the dock shortly after the incident, with town officials installing a new structure within days.
Police have not released the names of those involved due to their age.
