Lumberjacks Coach Looking Forward To Next Season

A 17 win season left the South Shore Lumberjacks on the outside looking in when it came time for the Maritime Hockey League playoffs.

But, Head Coach and General Manager Kyle McAllister says they took steps to make the hockey club stronger next season after several acquisitions before January’s trade deadline.

He says it’s tough to not be competing in the playoffs but believes the team will be much improved following this summer’s draft in Miramichi.

“We have some holes to fill and some decisions to make but we’re in a real good situation for next year and it’s exciting for everyone involved once they see how everything going to unfold when the draft comes.”

McAllister says they had a depleted roster for the second half of the season after several players decided to leave.

He says he’s proud of the players who stayed and competed to the end.

McAllister also thanks fans for supporting the hockey club.

He’s confident in the club’s direction and looks forward to getting back on the ice this summer.
