Age 96, of Bridgewater, Lunenburg Co., passed peacefully with family by his side, on Thursday, May 28, 2026, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater.
Eric was born in Montreal, he was a son of the late Basil Lorenzo and Dorothy (Dickie) Howard.
He lived a full life filled with love. Graduating from Loyola College in Montreal and Western University in London Ontario, he had a long career with Scotiabank. At retirement he volunteered with the Burlington Seniors Centre, as their chairman for many years. He was very proud of bringing pickleball to this community. He moved to Nova Scotia in 2019 to be closer to his daughters in his later years. In his last year he truly enjoyed his full life at Stonemont Retirement Living, Cookville, where he made many new friends.
Surviving are his children, David Basil (Sheila) Howard, Burlington, Ont.; Monica Jane Howard (Ben Dakin), Molega Lake; Nancy Elizabeth Howard, Riverport; Robert Brian Howard (Theresa Suraci), Maple, Ont.; daughter-in-law, Janet Clarke, Collingwood, Ont.; his grandchildren, who he adored, Jessica Whyte, Angela (Tom) O’Brien, Jennifer (Pat) Gillis, Katie James (Colin), Theresa Howard, Heather (Ron) Gillis, Sarah Howard (Thomas), Robert Joseph Howard (Iulia), Natalie Howard, Rachel Howard (Ben), Grace Howard, Brady Richards (Erin), Kayla Frustaglio (Mike); his great-grandchildren, Teagan O’Brien, Jude O’Brien, Liam Morphy, Lennon Morphy, Louise McCollum, Sterling Skinner, Meadow James and Summer James; many nieces and nephews, who loved him dearly; also, the beloved dogs, Moe and Billy.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, the former, Greta Lillian (Ramier) Howard, and his son, Stephen Eric Howard.
