Pre-trial Set For John Robert ‘Jack’ Buckley

Dates for the pre-trial hearing in the case against John Robert ‘Jack’ Buckley have been set for mid-May.

The 23-year-old stands accused of first degree murder in the 2012 death of his mother.

This is the second time Buckley has been arrested for this crime.

Buckley’s lawyer says his client has been waiting in jail for almost two years altogether.

He says for that reason he wanted to see the proceedings move as quickly as possible.

Buckley was in custody for approximately nine months when after being arrested in 2012 before the case was dropped due to a lack of evidence.

He was re-arrested last April and has been held in Dartmouth since.

Trial dates have yet to be selected but it’s expected to take several weeks.

Buckley will appear via video-link for the pre-trial which will take place on May 19th.
