Park View Panthers advance to first provincial girls rugby championship game

The Park View Panthers girls’ rugby team is one win away from a provincial title.

The Panthers earned a spot in the Nova Scotia School Athletic Federation Division 1 provincial championship game after defeating CEC 31-0 in the provincial semifinal on Friday.

The victory continues a historic season for the Bridgewater-based program, which earlier this spring captured its first regional championship in team history to qualify for provincials.

Park View will now face Citadel High Schoo the in the provincial final, following Citadel’s win over Horton in the other semifinal.

The championship match is scheduled for Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Graves-Oakley Memorial Park fields in Halifax.

A win would cap off a breakthrough season for the Panthers, who have already achieved the most successful campaign in the history of the school’s girls rugby program.
