Recovery work continues on a train that derailed on Queen Street.
In a social media update, the Town of Truro said CN crews worked overnight to recover 14 railcars that derailed Saturday night.
Three of the derailed railcars contained residual hydrogen peroxide, but the town said those have been secured and there is no danger to public safety.
No leaks, fires, or injuries were reported at this time either.
CN also brought additional resources to support the re-railing of the cars.
A signed detour is in place around Queen Street’s railway crossing, which remains blocked with railcars.
The town said an update on recovery timelines, including when Queen Street will reopen to traffic, will be provided when available.
The cause of the derailment remains under investigation.
More to come. . .
