Nova Scotia’s Minister of Natural Resources is taking a lot of criticism over his travel expenses. Zach Churchill, who’s also the Liberal MLA for Yarmouth, says the almost 13-thousand dollar bill for a trip he and his executive assistant took to Boston earlier this year was well worth it. The pair was in Boston for the christening of the Yarmouth to Maine ferry, the Nova Star. Churchill says they promoted the new service everywhere they went in the lucrative Boston market and he believes the rewards from all that were worth more than the cost of the trip. The Opposition Tories and NDP say the minister is ringing-up too many pricey trips. Premier Stephen McNeil is praising Churchill’s efforts though in promoting the ferry service.
