Lunenburg Fishers’ Memorial Service returns Sunday

A longstanding tradition will return to the Lunenburg waterfront this weekend.

The 101st annual Fishers’ Memorial Service will take place Sunday at the waterfront cenotaph, honouring fishermen who lost their lives at sea.

The service provides an opportunity for family members, loved ones and others in the community to pay their respects.

This year, special recognition will be given to fishermen who died in years ending in six.

The service begins at 2 p.m.

Wreaths can still be purchased for the ceremony by contacting the Town of Lunenburg.
