Wear pink, or something with butterflies on it in honor of Dolly as today is 9/25.
It is more of a US thing of course, but that said, who doesn’t love Dolly. Since we lost the incredible artist in August, exactly a month ago today, there have been suggestions that Sept 25th should be Dolly Parton Day. As one person said, if May 4th can be known as Star Wars Day, then 9/25 can be a day for Dolly.
California Governor has signed a bill to officially recognize today as Dolly Parton Day and a number of other states are planning events in honor of Dolly for September 25th.
It’s officially Dolly Parton Day, with parades, pink lights and book drives
Of course the reason for today to dedicated to the legendary country star is because of her huge crossover hit, the theme song for the first movie Dolly Parton acted in, 9 to 5. So today as you tumble out of bed and stumble to the kitchen, pour yourself a cup of ambition, think of the lady that gave us that morning anthem for the working class.
Here is the story of how that tune came to be. Take a look and Happy Dolly Day.
