SPROULE, Joan Viola – Age 85, formerly of Lake Pleasant, Annapolis Co., died peacefully on Thursday, October 1, 2026, in Hillside Pines Home for Special Care, Bridgewater, where she had been residing. Born October 21, 1940, in North River, Lunenburg Co., she was a daughter of the late Edwin James and Amy Lavinia (Daniels) Robar.
Surviving is her daughter, Zelda (Randy) Robar, Springfield; sons, Kendall (Cindy) Sproule, Noel Sproule (Nancy Acker), Arden Sproule (Leslie Talbot), all of Lake Pleasant; Brenton (Darlene) Sproule, Hastings; grandchildren, Tiffany (David) Horne, Felicia Sproule (Darren Lowe), Brittany Sproule, Christopher Sproule (Amy Boyd); step-grandchildren, Wayne Robar, Sharmarlyn Robar, Tammy Naugler, Wanda Demone, Cindy Sproule, Robin Simms, Dereck Naugler, Abby Lowe, Elena Lowe; great-grandchildren, Bradley Horne, Brooklyn Horne, Ava Lowe, Addison Sproule, Hunter Carey; step-great grandchildren, Amy Naugler and Jackson Naugler. Also, her sisters, Judith (Paul) Robar, North River; Monica Zinck, Chicago; brothers, Vincent (Sylvia) Robar, North River; Delbert (Gloria) Robar, Hastings; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Guy Frederick Sproule; son, Gregory Sproule; sisters, Lila Sproule and Marion Daniels; brothers, Nelson, Bernie and Luther; daughter-in-law, Linda Sproule.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home by request. A public graveside funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, October 10, 2026, in Springfield Baptist Church Cemetery, Springfield. Rev. Robert Gates officiating. Family flowers only please, donations may be made to the Springfield Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
