Gold River Man Faces Weapons Charges

A 48-year-old Gold River man is facing weapons charges.

The charges were laid following a traffic stop around 10:00pm Friday night.

Members of Lunenburg District RCMP seized open liquor, a handgun and ammunition from the vehicle.

The unnamed Gold River man has been charged with:

  • careless use of a firearm

  • unauthorized possession of a firearm

  • unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle

  • possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition.

His license was suspended for seven days for alcohol consumption.

The man was released from custody but is due to appear in Bridgewater Provincial Court on May 17 to answer the charges.
