A six-time Stanley Cup champion is making his way to Bridgewater.
Bob Gainey has been named the special guest for the South Shore Junior ‘A’ Lumberjacks celebrity dinner.
Owner Larry Creaser says Gainey wants to encourage people to support the club.
“He knows that we need help to get going and I told him what our goals are to make this something that will go on for many years, not just a one-year deal.”
Gainey played 16 seasons with the Montreal Canadiens and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1992.
The event will be held September 24 at the Best Western in Cookville.
