Publicover ‘Grateful’ For Time As Bridgewater Mayor

The mayor of Bridgewater struck the gavel for the final time Tuesday night, bringing an end to his more than 25 years in town politics. Carroll Publicover was first elected to Bridgewater council in 1985 before becoming deputy mayor in 1988. He served in that role and as a councillor until 2004 before becoming mayor. Publicover says he’s grateful for his run as the town’s chief magistrate.

Publicover shied away from commenting on his post-election plans but hinted he has a few irons in the fire. Council will hold a wrap-up meeting and swear-in the newly elected council November 5.
